You'd probably need to get into London from the airport first, by train or shuttle. I haven't been to the airport..Gatwick or Heathrow in years so I don't know.
I'm aiming to travel up from Kent in the morning, so I'd be changing trains in London around lunch time. We could travel up together if you are arriving that early.
