Nope not me..well at least I hope no one is bashing me... no the infamous Jo on SPN. It is really starting to PISS ME OFF!!!!

I joined a couple of Dean/Jensen groups on Yahoo this week thinking the talk would be about him, but No, almost ALL the posts have been Jo bashing...Jo is this, Jo is that, Jo should be sent, Jo should have this happen to her, the actress is....

I don't love Jo yet, maybe I will, maybe I won't, but I don't dislike her either and Kripke hasn't let me down yet. The level of hate that is being leveled at her character and the actress is INSANE, and lets face it no woman is going to be good enough for the magnificence that is Dean Winchester, unless that woman is ourselves ;-)
Needless to say I unsubscribed, I've had enough of this crap elsewhere, I don't want it in my inbox too.

For the first time I'm actually finding myself not looking forward to an episode of Supernatural and that just isn't right :-(

And once again I'm glad for the sanity that is my LJ flist. :) Everyone's talking about the Jo-hate that is going on, but I've not seen any of it. (Fortunately, because I just told people how wonderfully unwanky the SPN fandom is.)

I really don't like Jo... I really don't. To me she's just one big Mary Sue designed to pull 14year old girls into the show to watch :-)

BUT I can't understand why people would bash Alona. It's not her fault if Jo is written that crappily...

Lord, save us from fanwank...lol.

I think a lot of the Jo bashing came from the early sides. (And the fact the fangirls really don't want to share either of their boys with anyone, despite their lip service to having some female characters added to the mix.) Having read the sides myself, I'll say they have toned down some of the "mary sue" aspect. I think that's probably a product of being able to work with an actual actress and see how the character gels on screen.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with Jo this week. I have a feeling it will be a make or break episode for my opinion of her.

I don't blame you.. I'd un-sub from a group that seemed designed to bash a character too. For me, the jury is still out as far as Jo is concerned specifically, but I am glad that new, semi-regular characters were added. And Jo DOES seem to add to the plot in a positive way. In fact "Simon Said" is sort of leaning me into the 'I like Jo' camp.

I'm kind of startled at the level of Jo-hate myself.. I mean, I can understand not liking a charachter, but some of this seems SO over the top, and what's being leveled at the actress seems to be exhibits of a borderline personality. Don't let them ruin your enjoyment of the show though... Just spend time hanging around with the normals for a bit. :)

The last character that I saw spawn such hate was Emilie DeRaven when she played Tess on Roswell- Tess was the 3rd wheel brought into add drama with the show's main couple if you never watched. It was horrible. And now, some of the same people love her now that she's on LOST, no joke.

I adore Jo- she's still got some development, but she's only appeared in two episodes so far and gotten a few minutes of screentime. I'm not opposed to shipping her with Dean, but I'm really all about the frienship, and the awesomeness of a female hunter. And I really don't think Kripke's gonna let us down- he hasn't yet.

The Jo hate(as I said in my journal) scares me. Well its causing me to be scared of the whole fandom itself. To put that much hate on a fictional character it makes you wonder what they are like outside of the computer. I can understand people are worried about their beloved Dean, but trust Kripke. He hasnt let us down yet. In fact this season is turning out to be the best yet.

I think the addition of all the new characters are a great freshness to the show. Not that it was getting old or anything, but to keep it interesting to the avereage viewer. Ya know?

I feel bad for Alona Tal. the poor girl.. shes a good actress that just happened to be cast as a supposed love interest of a character that has psycho fans. Yes I said it. My one friend put it the best the other night when I was discussing this with her. "Jealous Fangirl Syndrome"

Dont let them ruin this show for you babe. Just remember there is me, and what looks like a couple others on your flist that are sane. Stick with us. =D

I don't mind Jo at all.. She's just 'there', and there's a reason for it..
(Btw. said reason doesn't have to be sex with Dean..)

Word, dude. :)

Hate, of any kind, makes me itchy.

I was apprehensive about new characters in general, but Jo and Ellen have been surprisingly well done. Thier relationships with Sam and Dean have not at all been forced or overdone.

>>>For the first time I'm actually finding myself not looking forward to an episode of Supernatural and that just isn't right :-(

Heck yeah. I actually taped last night's episode even though I was home. That's just wrong. But now that I have watched it, I think Jo was great and Ellen was better than last week.

Also, my name is Jo, too. I think I'm starting to get a complex. :)

(Have friended you...hope that's alright)
