I'm blissfully ignorant of all things SPN (although I like watching the squee from afar), but I agree with Padalecki - because I ADORED the Angel finale. I thought it was perfect. Mind you, maybe heroic death wouldn't have the same meaning in SPN?

I loved the Angel finale too, but I was an emotional wreck LOL! Lindsey, Wes..Gunn! Fred and Cordy already gone.. I was still in tears an hour after the ep finished.
I've re-watched the eps lots but that one only once..although I did love it.Always will :-)

I reckon it must depend on how emotionally attached to the characters you are. I loved the Angel cast like family but none of them had a particularly special place in my heart (at the time), so I could see their deaths as tragic but heroic and feel proud of them all.

But I recently read a fanfic (a fanfic! not even canon!) in which my beloved Sanzo died of old age and it haunted me for WEEKS!

So, yep. You're right. The fangirl heart is a fragile one. ;-)

Yep, I agree with you there. I was very emotionally attatched to the characters..especially Angel and to the whole show. So yes I was proud..but it was the end. Although they still live on in my head..LOL!

Didn't think I'd ever get that attatched again, but SPN is heading that way!

Fanfic is just wonderful! I have much admiration for it :-)

You'd think us fangirls would learn by now..let's hope we never do ;-)

What! Why? Who died? *has repressed memories due to emotional trauma*
I do love the symbolism though: there's not really an ending to Angel, they never stop fighting.

As for SPN... I don't see a happy ending, I just don't. I also don't see the brothers separated. Whatever the end they'll stick together, because neither can function properly without the other, after everything that happened.

If it ends in death, let's just hope it's not anytime soon.

I kinda agree with Jared, I mean there's no way they can just kill the demon and be just happily ever after...there will definitely be one hell of a fight and even if they managed to get out alive they'll be marked for the rest of their lives. They'll never be able to have a normal family and live in peace, there'd always have the fear of something coming after them *sigh* I dont think I'm gonna handle see the boys die...I mean it was really hard seeing John go, but these are our boys we're talking about now *sobs*
