Hi I saw that post and I'm not in the Dark Angel fandom, so I didn't want to jump in that, but why doesn't she start a LJ community "Alec/Jensen free"? It's better that the want to chenge a whole fandom.

I'm not in the DA fandom, because I liked only Alec, the idea was good, but I don't really like the Jessica Alba's acting and it's quite a problem, since she was the lead.

I loved Dark Angel, enjoyed all the characters but I'm not an Alec/Max shipper which a large part of the fandom seems to be.
So I'm not really active in it.

And of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but like you, I don't think the place to rant in such a way is in that community. Besides that, I didn't like the tone of that post at all. A bit more sophistication would have been in place.

And...I love love love love Alec. Not just because of Jensen, but I like the character too.

Disclaimer: I do not know the chick. Don't care to know her. I was a DA fan since before the pilot aired, bawled like a baby when it was cancelled. I didn't know there was such a thing as fandom until after it had already been off the air for a couple years. Doesn't make me less of a DA fan if I think Alec is an amazing character and think this girl has nothing but attention grubbing on her mind.

I loved DA when it aired was really sorry when it got cancelled for Firefly..and then loved that as well..LOL!And that got cancelled!
I liked Jensen and his character, then didn't see him again until SPN.
I liked them all, wasn't active in that fandom..my first was Angel. I read DA fic now and again when I can find anything that isn't Alec/Max..LOL!

First of all: I can understand this girl. Not that I appreciate that she had to tell that everyone in that fandom, but I understand her.
But she made two big mistakes:

1. She used the wrong words. She said she wanted to critize the fandom but it sounds more as if she has something against Alex himself. But I don't know much about the fandom. I've never watched DA but such bad choices for an entry who isn't productive at all, is just stupid. I mean, I don't like Jensen's character in Dawson's Creek too but I don't post in dawsonfanatic that he should get the fuck off that show. Just stupid how she chose the words.

2. She posted this in the wrong Community. She said she is pissed off about how the fandom deals with the character in a community where the most people are reading this! Sorry, but when I finished the entry and continued to the comments I thought "Now the imaginary slaughter can begin." XD So stupid!

That post was TOTALLY unnecessary!! I mean... ok you can like some characters more than the others in a series, but just because you don't like one doesnt mean that the entire fandom should stop loving him just because you don't. That's ridiculous, the fandom is about sharing opinions and love about a series, actor or movie, not to criticize... she should also respect others opinions and not just ramble of why should the fandom stop loving one of the best damn characters of the show just because (since apparently the reason not to love him was that everybody else did? come on!!), specially not on a comm where the rest of the fans can see it... do it in you own LJ so only you can see your silly fights and rants... *takes deep breath*

This is just batshit and poor fandom etiquette. I mean, rant away all you want in your own journal. If I claim Dean is a crappy character with all the depth of a donkey (not that I ever would cause you know, Dean is a god among men) in my own journal that's my business. But don't go on a comm, particularly a comm that is obviously friendly to the character you don't like and rant away.

I have both season 1 and 2 of DA on DVD. The only reason I bought them is because of Jensen. I actually started off watching season 2 first just to see Jensen. I have to admit I liked the show and bought both seasons on DVD.

I saw it and loved it when it originally aired. I liked all the characters and especially Alec. That was the first time I had seen Jensen and then didn't until SPN, but that was one of the reasons I started watching SPN when the promos came out!
